Headteacher's Blog
As we approach the end of this half term, I would like to thank you for all of your continued support as we work together as a school community, and provide you with some information on what is happening over the coming few weeks.
We have had an extremely successful half term with the overwhelming majority of students focused on learning and doing their absolute best every single day.
I am delighted with the way our students have conducted themselves and worn their uniform with confidence and pride. We have received many positive comments from the community who feel that this has “lifted” our students and given them a greater sense of belonging. They have been a credit to you as parents/carers, and to our school.
Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow
As strong attendance rates are intrinsically linked to good educational outcomes, over the next few weeks we will be holding a tutor group attendance competition as part of our ‘Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow’ initiative. Each day, the tutor group with the best attendance from the previous day will be able to select a box from our Attendance Advent Calendar, situated in the canteen. The whole tutor group will win prizes ranging from chocolates to a Christmas movie trip at the Storyhouse. I wish each tutor group success in this competition.
School Christmas Dinner Day
Our school Christmas Dinner Day will be held on the same day as Christmas Jumper Day - Thursday 12th December - where we would like to encourage all students to eat their Christmas dinner together with their group tutor and fellow tutees, over an extended lunch break. Students can wear a Christmas jumper and/or Christmas accessories – they do not need to wear a blazer on this day, but must wear the rest of their uniform. Students may also wear their Christmas jumpers/accessories on the last day of term. We request a voluntary donation be made via ParentMail, with all proceeds going to Save the Children UK.
We will also be collecting donations for the West Cheshire Food Bank – tinned, dried and long life goods can be deposited by students at the collection point in the canteen. Where possible, please support those families less fortunate.
Christmas Concert
We hope to see you at our school Christmas concert, which is taking place on Wednesday 18th December at St. Mary’s Church, Handbridge at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:45pm).

Finally, look out for our newsletter next term which showcases the many amazing events that have taken place this term as a result of the hard work, dedication and resilience of our staff and students. Further information about life at QPHS can be found on our website and social media platforms.
School closes for the Christmas holiday on Friday 20th December 2024 at 12:00 noon and will re-open on Tuesday 7th January 2025 at 8:35am
I wish you a wonderful Christmas break with your loved ones, filled with happiness and joy. We look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
Yours sincerely,
