At Queen’s Park High School we are committed to establishing, promoting and maintaining the positive mental health and wellbeing of all staff through workplace practices and procedures. We actively encourage staff to take responsibility for their own mental health and wellbeing.

In addition to promoting positive mental health, we aim to recognise and respond to mental ill health via our staged approach to providing support. We believe that the mental health and wellbeing of our staff is key to organisational success and sustainability.

Positive mental health enables us to thrive and work together to inspire individuals, empower minds and define futures.

'Mental Health is a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community’

World Health Organisation 2019

Our Vision

  • To build and maintain a workplace environment and culture that supports positive mental health and wellbeing and prevents discrimination (including bullying and harassment).
  • To increase employee knowledge and awareness of mental health and wellbeing concerns and behaviours.
  • To reduce stigma around mental health in the workplace.
  • To facilitate employees active participation in a range of initiatives that support mental health and wellbeing.
  • To ensure all staff are aware of the support that is available to them as part of our school support package and signposting to external services.

Our Team

We have a group of qualified staff in school who have successfully completed the internationally recognised Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) accreditation as part of our school support package to provide mental health and well-being support for colleagues and the wider school community.
