They couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting! On Tuesday Year 10 & 12 Religious Studies students headed to Chester Cathedral for the inspiring Christian Controversies Conference. Dr Miranda ThrelfallHolmes opened the event with a powerful keynote on "Difference, Diversity & Deviance", sparking lots of thoughtful conversations & big questions. They then took part in small group workshops led by experts in theology & ethics diving deeper into challenging ideas & exploring fresh perspectives. The day ended with a brilliant Q&A panel, giving our students the chance to test their thinking & build on their critical thinking skills. We've got microbiologists in the making! To round off British Science Week Year 8 have been diving into the world of #metagenomics They've been inputting DNA sequences from patient samples into the NCBI nucleotide database to identify diseases like cholera, malaria & the Zika virus before deciding on the most effective treatment plans!! Wow! We'll certainly be in safe hands with this generation of scientists!#BritishScienceWeek #FutureScientists #curiosity #STEM @allaboutfutures
